Bots are here and they aren’t going anywhere. Unfortunately, they can’t cook or clean for us yet. They mostly just lurk online and create painfully awkward and frustrating user experiences with automated chats, unless they are programmed correctly. Bots come in many shapes and sizes. Search engines have ‘crawling’ bots that scan the web for content. Most websites have a file titled robots.txt to help these bots understand how to use the content on the site. However, more recently chatbots have become extremely popular and are typically what people refer to when the term ‘bot’ is used.
