Blount Memorial Foundation Appoints Tonia Latham To Board of Directors
Blount Memorial Foundation recently announced the appointment of Tonia Latham, Head of Strategic Development for Epic Nine Marketing Outfitters, to its Board of Directors on April 10, 2024. This brings the number of board members to eight.
The Blount Memorial Foundation Board of Directors is made up of community leaders and volunteers who are experienced in their fields and have agreed to support the Foundation’s various efforts to better the community, such as outreach and charitable activities.
“Without help from Blount Memorial Foundation, our medically fragile neighbors go without much-needed medication,” said Latham. “[They] can’t travel to life-saving treatments, and may even try to live without utilities or even adequate food. A community is only as strong as its weakest members. Being a member of the Board of Directors allows me to be a part of creating that strong community that cares for the vulnerable and is valuable for all.”
Latham has been an active member of Blount County for many years. Her latest venture occurred in 2023, when Latham co-founded 100 Women of Blount County, where once a quarter a group of women give one hour of their time and donate $100 each to make a large impact for their chosen nonprofit. In addition to 100 Women of Blount County, Latham serves as the Current Chair of the Board for The Hearing and Speech Foundation, sits on the Board of Directors for the Pigeon Forge Chamber of Commerce, and is the Area Director for Toastmasters International.
In addition to these positions, Latham has been with Epic Nine Marketing Outfitters for nearly five years, which plays a part in why she is dedicated to giving back to the community.
“While we work with national and international clients at Epic Nine,” continued Latham, “we live and work right here in East Tennessee. Giving back to our communities is vital in order for us to be a strong corporate citizen AND just the right thing to do. I’m excited to see what we can do for the Foundation.”
Blount Memorial Foundation serves the community by providing support to uninsured and underinsured patients in the form of food, clothing, prescriptions, oxygen, and much-needed services.
All funds raised by the Foundation through donors and charitable events benefit patients of Blount Memorial Hospital, as well as support hospital programs.
